What others say about Josh Hays:
Search Committee members
“Though occasionally we have shared a table during Wednesday night meals in the fellowship hall, it was a pleasure to get to know Josh better through the search process. It became clear to me that Josh has a true heart for our church. He and his wife Rebecca have a shared mission to serve the Lord through their local church, and FBC Waco has become home for them. Josh has a calm, steady demeanor, which translates well to working with the diversity of our church body. Josh recognizes the strengths of our congregation and is the right person to come alongside our members as we all strive to become stronger disciples of Christ.” – Amber Anderson, Search Committee Member
“What drew me to Josh Hays as the best candidate for the role of minister of discipleship for our church was the winsome combination of a very keen mind and a kind heart. Josh possesses a healthy confidence in the unique gifts and strengths that God has given him alongside the humility that recognizes that there is much God is still teaching him and much to learn from others. I believe Josh has the attention to detail that will enable him to help each age group prosper and grow as we study God's Word in community with one another. Josh is a good listener and will want to hear from us what seems to be working well in our departments and classes, yet will bring some creativity to inspire us to try new things and to reach out to our community in fresh ways. Josh's love for FBC-Waco is palpable and I am excited to see the ways in which the Lord will bless us through this his gifts, calling and leadership.” – Sharon Hoffman, Search Committee member
“I do not remember when I first met Josh Hays but was impressed with his commitment to First Baptist Church since I had seen him at many functions. As time moved on, I learned that Josh was very involved with the college ministry. I really learned a great deal about Josh after having read his resume and listened to his interview responses. Josh is an individual that is dedicated to accomplishing a task within a timely framework. His past management experience will definitely be an asset in his new position. Josh will be a tremendous addition to our church staff. “ – Curtis Moore, Search Committee member
