Apply to work at Summer Day Camp

We are seeking energetic and hard-working individuals to work at camp this summer!  If you are someone who loves spending time with children, loves being outdoors, loves playing and having a good time, and are responsible and caring, we want you to apply to work at FBC Waco’s Summer Day Camp!

The following positions are available:

FT = Full-time position (40hrs/week); PT = Part-time Position (hours vary; 20 hours or less depending on position)

Assistant Director (FT) – The Assistant Director assists the Director in insuring the overall safety and well-being of the camp.  Experience working with children and parents is required.  A great assistant director will be responsible, organized, trustworthy, and reliable.

Counselor (FT; potential PT) – A counselor’s main responsibility will be to maintain the children’s safety while leading and participating actively with the children in games and activities.  A great counselor will be involved, caring, responsible, and trustworthy!

Counselor/Lifeguard (FT) – A counselor/lifeguard will uphold all the responsibilities of a counselor and will assume the duties of a trained lifeguard while campers are at the pool.  A great counselor/lifeguard will be observant, focused, involved, caring, responsible, and trustworthy!  (Red Cross Lifeguard Certification will be required by the first day of camp.  FBC Day Camp can assist with this process.)

Counselor/Worship Leader (FT) – The counselor/worship leader will uphold all the responsibilities of a counselor but will plan and lead camp chapel worship instead of teaching a skill time activity.  A great counselor/worship leader will have competencies in performance, enjoy leading children in worship, and be creative with ways to engage children in worship.

Counselor/Archery Instructor (FT) – The counselor/archery instructor will uphold all the responsibilities of a counselor and will additionally complete certification to teach archery during skill time.  He/she will be responsible for maintaining safe archery equipment and procedures.

Counselor/Riflery Instructor (FT) – The counselor/riflery instructor will uphold all the responsibilities of a counselor and will additionally complete certification to teach riflery during skill time.  He/she will be responsible for maintaining safe riflery equipment and procedures.

Support Staff Team Lead (FT) – The support staff team lead is ultimately responsible for managing and maintaining camp resources as well as leading the team of support staff to complete tasks necessary to this goal.  A great support staff team lead will have leadership skills, be highly organized, very trustworthy, and able to follow and give clear direction.

Support Staff (PT) – The support staff are those who make camp happen!  They ensure that equipment is ready when needed, snacks and drinks are prepared, and facilities are clean.  A great support staff team member will be detail-oriented, able to follow directions, and able to take initiative.
