Deacon Nominations
Dear church family,
Our church has discerned a need for new deacons, and on the recommendation of the Ordination Committee, we are now inviting nominations for new deacon candidates.
Scripture describes appropriate deacon candidates as those “of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom” (Acts 6:3). First Timothy 3:8–13 lists additional qualifications. Our church’s bylaws stipulate that all resident members age twenty-one or older are eligible for consideration by the Ordination Committee. We invite you to nominate candidates that meet these criteria. Deacons ordained by another Baptist church who have transferred their membership to FBC may also be recommended for consideration. Upon interview of the candidates, the Ordination Committee will make recommendations for approval first by the Deacon Fellowship and then by church members.
