W.H. Bayliss

Rev. W.H. Bayliss, elected to pastor FBC Waco in 1860, enjoyed a reputation for his zeal and oratoricsal talents. He was pastoring a church in Linden, Louisiana, when called. In the two years that he led the Waco congregation, 32 members were added by baptism and 51 accessioned by letter. Rev. Bayliss was also instrumental in organizing the Waco Baptist Association.
